Responsible AI isn’t a buzzword. It’s a way of thinking and acting you can learn and put into practice.

Responsible AI Foundations Bootcamp (for Non-Coding Professionals)

Includes:
On-demand videos + weekly interactive workshops + quick study guides
+ 30-min 1:1 session with trainer

What it is

A guided 8-week fun and applied learning experience that helps non-coding professionals build a strong, durable understanding of AI, so you can follow AI news with clarity, participate confidently in AI conversations, and apply responsible AI thinking in any setting (workplace, community, policy, everyday life).

You'll need to commit 4-6 hours per week. On-demand videos are in bite sized chunks, typically about 10-20 min each so you can complete throughout your work day or evening.

Who it’s for

This is for you if you:

  • feel like AI is moving fast and you want to feel oriented (not behind)
  • want to understand AI as a technical and social system
  • need structure, practice, and a path—rather than scattered resources
  • don’t code (or don’t want to), but still want real AI fluency and judgment

No coding required. No technical background assumed.
Also welcoming to “intermediate” folks who suspect they’re missing key foundations or would like a refresher.

How

On-demand videos fit your schedule each week! Expectation is that you finish the videos for that week by the workshop.

Content will be made available ("dripped") each week so participants can easily keep pace without feeling overwhelmed.

This training uses the Teachable platform and workshops will be on Zoom.

When

Course will run Thursdays during March and April 2026. Starting 5 March and closing 23 April. All 1:1 sessions with me must be complete by 30 April, 2026.

Interactive hands-on workshops will be on Thursdays:

7-9am CST (USA, Mexico)
8-10am EST (USA, Latin America)

1-3pm GMT (London)
2-4pm CET (Paris, Berlin)
3-5pm SAST (South Africa)
4-6pm EAT (Addis Ababa, Istanbul, Nairobi)
5-7pm UAE ST (Dubai, Abu Dhabi)
6:30-8:30pm IST (India)

*Please double check your time against EST in USA, as some countries adjust clocks 8 March, immediately after the first session.

Workshop recordings will be made available same day for those who cannot make the session live.

By participating you agree to The Inclusive AI Lab's Terms & Conditions. Please note that recordings may be used by the instructor in perpetuity, you can adjust your online name to fit your privacy preference.

"Came away with confidence"

This course inspired me. The content was in-depth yet easy to understand. I came away from the two weeks with the confidence to ask important questions about the ethics of AI in an informed way. Emily’s knowledge and judgement in this field is impressive and I am very grateful to have attended her training.

"Superbly taught"

For anyone looking to learn more about inclusive AI, I highly recommend Emily Springer’s courses! Superbly taught, building up your understanding piece by piece, layer by layer to avoid mind boggling (too much).

— Leanne Jones, Science, Research and Innovation Team Lead, FCDO

"Clear, energetic, engaging"

As someone with little prior knowledge of big data or algorithms, the course was the perfect entry point for me into the world of AI. Emily made what felt inaccessible to grasp, very accessible. Her facilitation is superb; clear, energetic and engaging. I now have the algorithmic literacy to critically assess AI tools, the potential harm they can cause and the social inequalities they can reinforce. It also made me excited for the positive impact AI can have in the world of social impact!

— Anahita Alexander-Sefre, UNFPA

Don't learn AI from a tech bro.
Learn it from a sociologist.

"Informative and inspirational"

I would highly recommend this course! I did it with a group of coworkers: it is packed, challenging, informative, inspirational and much needed course to help us better understand what happens behind our backs and eyes, and improve our way to engage AI in our daily life.

— Benedetta Musillo, Senior Social Development Adviser, FCDO

"Accessible, interesting, relevant"

This course very deftly taught me critical and complicated AI concepts in a way that was accessible, interesting and relevant to my work as a policy advisor in a developing context. I have done several courses before and this was by far the best in explaining both the very technical aspects of AI and their significant, and often hidden, socio-political implications. More than anything, this course showcases why more diverse voices are needed in the AI conversation while also enabling that to happen. Thank you!

— Senior Advisor, Tony Blair Institute

"Comprehensive and well-paced"

I am in the middle of the “Building Blocks of Inclusive AI” training right now and it is AMAZING! I’ve been in Learning and Development for many years and have rarely see trainings that are this comprehensive and well-paced – it is maximally relevant, timely, informative, and inclusive. Leading-edge learning about AI at its best. This is a great opportunity to learn from Emily Springer, a master in the field.
